Local Pinkpistols Chapter Celebrates "National Ammo Day"

The Houston chapter of PinkPistols, an international group supporting GLBT self-defense, will be celebrating "National Ammo Day" with a shoot Sunday November 17th.
Dan Weiner, local Pinkpistols president says that National Ammo Day is actually
Tuesday, November 19th, but Pinkpistols will celebrate by combining their monthly
shoot with a celebration to honor the event. "It's a good way to celebrate the right
to GLBT-self defense, even if you"re 'in the closet' regarding firearms."

"National Ammo Day is a 'buycott' designed to support the right to self-defense,
especially among GLBT folks," Weiner said. "It's no secret that gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgendered people are singled out for 'special attention' by criminals or others with prejudice in their hearts." Weiner went on to explain that National Ammo Day is a "stealth" method of supporting GLBT self-defense issues, even if you're "in the closet" about firearms because no one needs to know. "Just go to a local store that carries ammunition and buy 50 rounds. It's that simple."

The Houston chapter of PinkPistols will be celebrating the event with the local
chapter of the Libertarian Party at Texas Shooters Range, located on
1006A Witte Road in West Houston.  Witte Road runs north from Old Katy Road between Bunker Hill and Gessner.

The event will start at 2PM, Sunday the 17th of November. People interested in PinkPistols or

shooting are invited to attend.  Weiner joked, " It's a good way to get in touch
with your inner predator as you mercilessly slaughter innocent paper targets."

PinkPistols is a GLBT friendly group which promotes the safe and responsible
use of firearms for self-defense.  Asked what people would do with a box of
ammunition if they don't own a firearm, Weiner replied, "Maybe it's time to
buy one."  Weiner added, with a twinkle in his eye, "I'm sure our local
Pinkpistols members would find something to do with the ammo."
