History is key to understanding this commemoration of the New York, Texas and Mexican Railway Co., formed in 1880 to construct a railway line from New York to Mexico City. Victoria became the company's headquarters. Italian laborers moved to Victoria, macaroni became their staple food, and soon the line was nicknamed "the Macaroni Line." Activities will include a juried arts-and-crafts show, re-enactments, demonstrations, games, two stages of live entertainment, the Pasta Playground and a macaroni cook-off.
